What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a natural, time-tested therapy that helps support your body's ability to heal and restore balance. Using ultra-fine, sterile needles placed at specific points on the body, acupuncture can help relieve pain, reduce stress, improve circulation, and support overall wellness.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, health depends on the smooth flow of Qi (pronounced "chee"), your body's vital energy. When Qi becomes blocked or unbalanced, it can contribute to pain and other health concerns. Acupuncture helps restore that balance and encourages your body's natural healing processes.

Every treatment is personalized, and no two sessions are exactly the same. Depending on your needs, your visit may also include therapies such as cupping, Tui Na (Chinese therapeutic massage), or moxibustion (moxa) to enhance your results.

Three Traditions
One Precise Treatment

Flora & Qi draws from three distinct acupuncture traditions — allowing for a treatment approach that is precisely matched to your body, constitution, and goals. No protocols applied by rote. Every session is built around you.

Japanese

Characterized by refined palpation-based diagnosis and exceptionally fine needle technique. It is particularly well-suited for sensitive individuals or those new to acupuncture, and consistently produces profound results through its emphasis on precision over stimulation.

Korean

Saam acupuncture is a classical four-needle system grounded in the energetic relationships between organ systems. Highly sophisticated in its approach, it is especially effective when constitutional patterns are at the root of a presenting concern — restoring internal balance at the level of cause, not symptom.

Chinese

Pulling from classical theory and millennia of clinical refinement. It is a dynamic, broad-spectrum system addressing musculoskeletal pain, stress and anxiety, hormonal dysregulation, digestive dysfunction, and complex chronic illness.
